The best dieting tip I could give
When I was at my heaviest, around 250lbs., I was searching for answers to take control of my health and vitality. And I read dozens of books on the subject of weight loss and personal fitness.
Now that I am around 190 lbs, I am constantly asked how I did it and there are of course plenty of changes that I made in my life to accomplish this.
But if there was one tip that I could give that mattered more than all the others, it would be...Pre-Plan Your Meals
There is nothing that has been more important to me on my weight loss journey. And here is why pre-planning your meals is so important...
Imagine a typical day at work. You didn't bring lunch but you are working like crazy and aren't thinking about food until you hear from the next cubicle...
"We ordering Chinese...you want any?"
And then you order the General Tsao's and add a 2500-calorie bomb to your waistline, plus about 4 days worth of sodium.
By pre-planning your meals the night before you put yourself into a position where this will not happen.
Take a look at the homepage of Health-and-fitness-needs.com
and click on the video about how to count your calories. This is a great guideline to show you how many calories you should be
eating over the course of the day.
Match your meal plan around these numbers and you will start to see the pounds come off.
Even if you are not looking to lose weight, planning your meals can take on a vital role, especially when you are eating out. For example, most restaurant chains have their menus online as well as calorie counts, and this is invaluable when you are looking for tasty food sways to keep you on track.
As an example, tonight after dinner I will be stopping at Cold Stone Creamery. Is that a problem if you are on a diet? Not if you do it right.
I checked the menu online and found the Blueberry Pineapple Lifestyle Smoothie, which is only 380 calories. and I can tell you that is a far cry from what I would order if I didn't take the two minutes to go online and look at the menu. I easily saved myself a good 700 calories by doing things that way.
